Young and gifted artist shows of his captivating work



Nairobi -  Jimmy Curtis Wamalawa  is an art instructor and mentor who sketches every  detail of his surrounding and also beautiful and unique traits of people from different cultural backgrounds.

The 29-year-old artist who is artistically known as Jimmy Curtis IV, creates images that are captivating. He discovered  his talent at a tender age.

"At first I didn’t really know it was a talent. I was too young to understand , but as I grew older I began to realize that apparently not everyone was as good at it as I was".he said.



The young and gifted artist  describes his personality as an artistic enigma , even to himself , however,  he expresses himself through art.

Jimmy Curtis IV added , "I love life and the wonderful things in life. I love challenges that challenge my creativity into breaking personal limitations".



His work revolves around the creative spectrum; from fine arts, writing, fashion, modelling and currently trying to break into music.

Jimmy Curtis IV has always been interested in dance as well but unfortunately his two left broom sticks in the form of legs have not been very kind to him in this regard. He said amusingly.


According Jimmy Curtis IV , life inspires him , both the good times and bad times. He does not enjoy bad times , but somehow they find a way to inspire him. He finds a lot of inspiration from God as well.

"The more I learn and grow in knowing him , the more I feel my creative intellect expand.I also earn from my talent", he said."


Jimmy Curtis IV  also said that is always tough and a test of patience before one can earn a stable income from being an artist, but consistency will always pay back. According to him it is never a wasted investment.

His advise to young people is to perfect whatever ability they have, whether or not it’s their main source of income.

" It is not by accident that you have those abilities, it is your gift for making the word a better place than they found it".he said.

Jimmy Curtis IV has also created images of celebrities as well.
